Accessibility Statement

Every page was reviewed against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Text contrast was measured against each element’s actual background, and heading order, ARIA references, keyboard operation and target sizes were checked on every page. Next scheduled review: March 2027.

• ✓Text Alternatives (1.1.1): All 84 images across the site carry alt text. The 29 decorative images correctly use empty alt so screen readers skip them.
• ✓Frames and Embeds (4.1.2): Every embedded frame — contact and referral forms, the location map, and the podcast videos — has a descriptive title attribute.
• ✓Contrast, Minimum (1.4.3): Every piece of text was measured against the background actually behind it. All pages now report zero failures for both normal and large text. Fixed in this review: the primary green, red and orange were darkened to clear 4.5:1; the blue and red cards on the home page switched to white text; the photo band headings on the Services page gained a deeper overlay; the MyoMotorway hero label is now solid white; and the social links on the Contact page no longer turn pale yellow on hover.
• ✓Non-Text Contrast (1.4.11): Buttons, form outlines and focus indicators were checked against their surroundings. Fixed in this review: the inactive photo-carousel dots were too faint and were strengthened to clear 3:1.
• ✓Target Size, Minimum (2.5.8): Every link and button was measured. Fixed in this review: the standalone text links on the home page and the photo-carousel dots were enlarged to meet the 24×24 pixel minimum, without changing how they look.
• ✓Info and Relationships (1.3.1): Heading order was checked page by page. Every page has exactly one main heading and no skipped levels. Fixed in this review: the Contact page jumped from its main heading straight to a third-level heading; those two headings were promoted to the correct level.
• ✓Name, Role, Value (4.1.2): Every ARIA reference on the site points at an element that exists. Expandable questions report their open or closed state, and all carousel controls, dots and icon buttons have accessible names.
• ✓Keyboard (2.1.1): The whole site can be operated without a mouse. The service cards on the Services page reveal their description on keyboard focus, not hover alone, and every question on the FAQ page is a real button reachable by Tab.
• ✓Focus Visible (2.4.7): Links, buttons and the flip cards all show a clear focus outline when tabbed to.
• ✓Pause, Stop, Hide (2.2.2): The About page photo carousel advances on its own, so a visible Pause and Play button was added alongside it. It also pauses on hover, on keyboard focus, when scrolled out of view, and on background tabs. The home page photo band pauses on hover, and the background video on MyoMotorway is silent and hidden from screen readers.
• ✓Motion from Animation (2.3.3): Visitors whose device asks for reduced motion get no entrance animations, no scrolling photo band, no background video, and a carousel that stays still until they choose to play it.
• ✓Three Flashes (2.3.1): Nothing on the site flashes. All motion is slow, and the scrolling photo band runs on a gentle 160-second loop.
• ✓Reflow and Responsive Layout (1.4.10): Every page was viewed at phone and desktop widths with no horizontal scrolling and no loss of content.
• ✓Content on Hover or Focus (1.4.13): Content that appears on hover — the service card descriptions and the enlarged carousel photo — is equally available to keyboard users.

Outside our control: the site header and footer, the embedded contact and referral forms, and the reviews widget are provided by third-party tools. These are covered by the note below and are re-checked at each review.

• ✓Text Alternatives: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt text. The favicon uses an SVG with proper accessibility attributes.
• ✓Time-Based Media: Embedded YouTube videos include title attributes on iframe elements for screen reader context. No auto-playing audio or video.
• ✓Adaptable: Pages use semantic HTML structure (header, nav, main, section, article, footer). A main landmark is defined on every page. Content is in logical reading order independent of styling.
• ✓Distinguishable: Color contrast meets WCAG AA 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Primary color #447d23 chosen for AA compliance. Body text uses #1A1A1A on #d8f4d1 for high contrast. Text resizable to 200% without breaking layout. No information conveyed by color alone.
• ✓Keyboard Accessible: A skip to main content link is present, visible on focus. All interactive elements reachable via Tab key. Custom focus styles defined using focus-visible. The mobile hamburger menu is fully keyboard-operable.
• ✓Enough Time: No time limits or auto-redirects. Cookie consent banner persists until user makes a choice.
• ✓Seizures and Physical Reactions: No content flashes more than 3 times per second. The marquee animation is a slow linear scroll (160s duration). prefers-reduced-motion is respected.
• ✓Navigable: Each page has a descriptive title set dynamically via the useSEO hook. Navigation links have descriptive text. The navbar uses aria-label. Focus order follows visual order.
• ✓Readable: html lang attribute is set for proper screen reader pronunciation. Language is plain and readable throughout.
• ✓Predictable: No unexpected context changes on focus or input. Forms only submit on explicit user action. Navigation and structure are consistent across all pages.
• ✓Input Assistance: Form fields have associated label elements. Error states are communicated clearly (not by color alone). Cookie consent has clear Accept and Decline buttons.
• ✓Compatible: The site uses valid, semantic HTML5. ARIA attributes used appropriately and sparingly. The accordion uses Radix UI with proper aria-expanded, aria-controls, and role attributes. The mobile menu uses proper aria-expanded and aria-label states.
• ✓Skip Link: Skip to main content link appears on first Tab keypress, styled with high contrast when focused.
• ✓Cookie Consent: Keyboard-accessible, persists choice in localStorage, includes a Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
• ✓Responsive Design: Fully responsive from mobile to desktop; no horizontal scrolling at any breakpoint.
• ✓Touch Targets: Buttons and links meet minimum 44x44px touch target size on mobile.
